2020 has been the perfect storm for the City of Headland’s Street Department, but Jason Singletary, Public Works Director for Headland, has great news for Headland. The new knuckle boom truck is now in operation. “I would like to say a big thank you to all of Headland citizens for being patient and understanding,” Singletary said.
Singletary recounts the challenges 2020 has brought to the Street Department team.
Notice! The Main Street paving project is underway and we urge all motorists to use caution when driving in the area. Watch out for trucks and personnel. This project will change Main Street from a 4-lane to a 2-lane with bike and pedestrian walking lanes.
Final photos! The downtown sidewalk project is complete and it looks great! At the same time, the State of Alabama has made changes to the streets and parking around the square. We urge everyone to be aware of these changes and to take care as we now have some parallel parking in Headland. We ask that all parallel parking on the west side be towards the south end of the park.
